InfoWorld.com Launches on Drupal

InfoWorld.com, the Web destination of choice for IT decision makers seeking to modernize their operations using the latest technologies, architectures, and strategies, launched a new site this morning. The site is built on the Drupal content management framework (Drupal 6, to be specific) and is the culmination of a six month effort by IDG and Optaros. The primary goal of the new site is to better organize and feature content across a variety of channels, currently Cloud Computing, Developer World, Mobilize, Security Central, Virtualization and Adventures in IT. InfoWorld also hosts a number of the industries most prominent bloggers and the new site ties their content to the channels and other featured ares of the site, better exposing InfoWorld's unique content. From a technical standpoint, the site features a variety of advanced web content management tools, including a media management tool (something similar to a very lightweight DAM system), workflow for editorial and sales teams and a variety of tools for promoting and featuring content on the site. The new infoworld.com also features an improved comment and rating system and discussion boards, which were not previously available on the site. There are also several Drupal-specific developer and editor tools that will soon be released back to the Drupal community. An official press release and case studies with more details will be forthcoming over the next few weeks.
